About Dr. Lisa Bowleg

Dr. Lisa Bowleg is a number one scholar of the appliance of intersectionality to social and behavioral sciences well being analysis. She is a professor of Utilized Social Psychology within the Division of Psychological and Mind Sciences on the George Washington College (GW) and a co-director of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Core of the DC Heart for AIDS Analysis (DC CFAR). She can also be the founder and president of the Intersectionality Coaching Institute.

Knowledgeable by intersectionality and different essential theoretical frameworks, her blended strategies analysis tasks look at the results of social-structural stressors (e.g., unemployment, incarceration, police brutality), intersectional stigma and discrimination, and protecting elements on the psychological, substance use, HIV, and bodily well being outcomes of U.S. Black males at numerous intersections of socioeconomic standing and sexuality. One other program of analysis examines the results of intersectional discrimination and protecting elements amongst Black lesbian, homosexual, and bisexual individuals in america.
